High quality is an important part of our identity. It is the prerequisite for being the companion of a fulfilled childhood. Our founder Margarete Steiff already recognised this. That is why we have always gone beyond legal requirements to make our products harmless, valuable and sustainable. We were one of the first toy manufacturers in Germany to introduce our own quality management system. This is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001.

We want your little ones to be able to play carefree and explore their surroundings with their Steiff best friend close by their side as loving companions. That's why it goes without saying that we only use harmless materials in the production of cuddly toys and fashion clothing. In addition, we apply the strictest requirements for hygiene and purity in the manufacturing process. In the case of our clothing, we always ensure that accessories and mechanical parts such as fasteners are child-friendly and safe. We have our adherence to these guidelines regularly tested by independent, recognised institutions.

For us, however, products must be more than just safe and harmless. We want them to feel great and to create moments of joy every day. That's why of our products are still lovingly handmade. Our soft toys are made from particularly soft materials and strict Steiff standards of workmanship ensure consistent quality. For our precious collectibles, we also use high-quality natural fibres, such as hemp, bamboo, paper plush or mohair, which we process in our Steiff-Schulte weaving mill in Germany.
